Yesterday afternoon we went to a “trunk-or-treat” event at our son Anthony’s preschool! A trunk-or-treat is where people meet up in a parking lot and kids get to dress up in their costumes and go car-to-car instead of door-to-door to trick-or-treat! Safer than going up to strangers’ doors and way easier on parents! 😀
Some people go all out to decorate their car or trunk in a special way and some don’t do anything. We decorated a little bit but on the spectrum of nothing (0) to amazing (10) we attempted a 3 or 4. Here was our trunk last night:
The problem with trunk-or-treat events is that your trunk is open for several hours. In some cars, you can manually turn the trunk light off by turning the interior lights off, and in some cars the trunk light goes off automatically after a certain amount of time. My cars don’t do either of those, so I had to come up with a solution. If your car is like mine, use this tip when you trunk-or-treat this Halloween:
(For the record, I shared yesterday we were planning to hand out free Wendy’s frosty coupons…we handed out little baggies and inside was a Wendy’s coupon, a bouncy ball (to go with our ball theme) and a Curious George fruit snacks (Anthony is Curious George this Halloween). So we’re not total coupon-giving losers!)
Happy Halloween Weekend!
